* I've lived in Kilgore since I was two years old.

* I attended KISD schools, so of course I know they are all GREAT!

* I come from a family of teachers. My mom was the librarian at Elder Elementary for 18 years before she retired. My older sister teaches math and science in Tyler. My grandmother on my dad's side of the family taught special education students. I also have a niece who recently began her teaching career teaching first graders in Lubbock.

* I have a B.S. in Education from the University of Texas at Tyler with a specialization in Mathematics.

* I am certified to teach Grades 1-8, Math for Grades 6-8, and ESL.

* I have over 20 years teaching experience in KISD: 3 years at 4th grade, 3 years Title Reading & Math, and the rest as a 5th grade teacher.

* I am a member of Kilgore & Texas Classroom Teachers Association, the East Texas & National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and I am a life member of P.T.A. and Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority for Women Educators.

* I serve as the coordinator for the 5th grade Math Scope & Sequence and as a campus representative on the KISD Technology Committee.

* I love music, reading, photography, and traveling.
