Homework
TEACHER ADVICE for PARENTS to help their CHILD:
Please do NOT say, "I never understood this.", "I can't do this, either.", etc.
If you don't "get it," ask your child to look in his/her math journal at the notes they took, to think back to what they did in class, or to ask for more help in class the next day because YOU EXPECT YOUR CHILD TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.
Homework Help
Where can your child get homework help?

* Your child's math journal should have notes that your child copied during class with definitions, examples, and processes.

* Use the student textbook. Each worksheet from the textbook has two numbers on it, for example 3-5. The first number is the chapter number and the second number is the lesson number.

If they need additional help, try the online student edition.
Multiplication Facts!!!!!
We are in the midst of our Multiplication Facts emphasis!
Please help us by reviewing some facts each evening with your child at home.

Each student is making their own unique flash cards to help them visually learn the facts.

No flash cards? Then, use dice, dominoes, or a deck of cards to help your child learn/review the facts.
Tutorials/Benchmark Info
The results of each assessment and benchmark will be analyzed. It is vital that students accurately demonstrate their capabilities on each test. Following each assessment or benchmark some Differentiated Instruction will be utilized during some upcoming class periods to reteach, practice, and enrich various TEKS. Those needing additional assistance will be asked to attend After School Tutorials or to spend extra time using a Computer Assisted Instruction program
What's Up with Vocabulary?
Each math vocabulary word is written in their Math Journals. It is vital that each student keep up with the journal and to review it on a regular basis.
Vision Management, Goals, etc.
We will write Academic and Behavioral Goals based on their report cards. These goals will help students to self-manage their own discipline.

After progress reports and report cards are distributed, students will review their goals to see if they progressing towards their goals or have meet their goals. At the beginning of each six weeks when report cards go out, they will write their goals for the next six weeks.
